This cooling rug for horses is the perfect way to cool and relax after rigorous exercise or on hot days. It is made of highly breathable material and uses only water to provide up to 5 hours of coolness making it ideal for keeping them comfortable during transport. No more toxic gels, chemicals or nasties... Simply soak and go. The soft fabric prevents our horse cooler rug from stiffening which can cause discomfort, while the netting wicks away excess moisture, helping your horse recover faster. Our patent pending design is scientifically backed using Thermal Imaging provided by an independent equine specialist so you have peace of mind it really works. Suitable for all types of riders, trainers, and equine health professionals. Please note: Our Cooling Rugs are not tested as a turnout rug. We recommend using for travelling; pre and post exercise; events and competitions; or while waiting for vets or farriers in the heat. Care Instructions: Soak the rug in water, ensure the whole of the rug is saturated (the colour of the material will change to a dark, slate grey once wet) Gently ring the rug, allowing the water to penetrate through the layers to maximise results Apply the rug to your horse The cooling mechanism will start to work immediately, and can last for long periods as required If in direct sunlight, the top layer will dry out quicker than the underneath layer, just place your hand underneath the rug to check if still cool before soaking again If the rug needs to be soaked again, remove and repeat as above for optimum results. For ease the horse can be hosed down with the rug on, however, the cooling mechanism may not last as long After use, before storing away, hang the rug to dry When required the rug can be machine-washed at 30 degrees. We recommend removing the large stainless steel fasteners from the front belt before washing, to avoid damage to your machine. Before storing away for long periods, we recommend washing the rugLeave the rug to dry naturally, do not tumble dry Once dry, store away in the bag until needed again   Neck available separately - please contact us if you would like one of these.
